Our Community
DesiChal is a space for the Desi and South Asian community to share moments, celebrate culture, and connect with respect. These guidelines help keep DesiChal safe and welcoming for everyone.
1. Be Respectful
- Treat others with kindness and respect, even when you disagree.
- No bullying, harassment, intimidation, or personal attacks.
- Respect different cultures, languages, backgrounds, and viewpoints within the Desi community.
2. No Hate or Discrimination
- No hate speech, slurs, or content that attacks people based on race, ethnicity, religion, caste, gender, sexuality, disability, or nationality.
- No content that promotes discrimination or exclusion of any group.
3. Keep It Safe
- No threats of violence or content that encourages harm to yourself or others.
- No promotion of terrorism or violent organisations.
- No content depicting graphic violence or self-harm.
4. No Nudity or Sexual Content
- No sexually explicit content, nudity, or pornography.
- No sexualisation of minors — this will be reported to the relevant authorities.
5. Protect Minors
DesiChal is for users aged 17 and over. Do not post content that endangers or exploits children. If you believe a child is at risk, contact us immediately and we will report it to the authorities.
6. No Spam or Misinformation
- No spam, repeated posting, or misleading content.
- No spreading harmful misinformation (e.g. health, elections, or scams).
- No fake engagement — buying or selling followers, likes, or comments.
7. Respect Privacy & Intellectual Property
- Don't share someone's private information (address, phone number, ID) without consent.
- Don't post content that infringes on others' copyright or trademark.
- Only post photos or videos of people who have agreed to be posted.
8. Account Integrity
- Use your real identity — don't impersonate others.
- One account per person.
- Don't share your password or allow others to use your account.
9. Enforcement
Breaking these guidelines may result in content removal, account restrictions, or permanent suspension. Our content moderation may automatically review or block posts that appear to violate these rules. You can also report any post or user in the app via the Report option.
10. How to Report
If you see content that breaks these guidelines, use the Report option on any post or profile. You can also block a user from their profile to stop them interacting with you. For serious concerns, email us at support@desichal.com.
11. Changes to These Guidelines
We may update these guidelines from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app or email.
