Copyright Policy

Last updated: July 2026

1. Respect for Copyright

DesiChal respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects our users to do the same. It is our policy to respond to clear notices of alleged copyright infringement in accordance with applicable law, and to remove or disable access to content that is found to infringe.

2. What Users Agree To

When you post content on DesiChal, you confirm that you own the rights to that content, or that you have permission from the rights holder to use and share it. Repeatedly posting content that infringes someone else's copyright may result in the removal of the content and the termination of your account. See our Terms of Service for more detail.

3. How to Report Infringing Content

If you believe that content on DesiChal infringes your copyright, you can report it in two ways:

  • In-app: Use the Report option on the post and select "Copyright infringement", then add the details requested below in the notes.
  • By email: Send a copyright notice to copyright@desichal.com.

4. What Your Notice Must Include

To help us act quickly, your notice should include:

  • A description of the copyrighted work you believe has been infringed.
  • A description or link to the content on DesiChal that you believe is infringing.
  • Your full name and contact information (email and, if possible, a phone number).
  • A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use of the content is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  • A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or authorised to act on behalf of the owner.
  • Your physical or electronic signature.

5. What Happens Next

Once we receive a valid and complete notice, we will review it and, where appropriate, remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing content promptly. We will also notify the user who posted the content so they are aware of the action taken.

6. If You Believe Your Content Was Removed by Mistake

If your content was removed following a copyright notice and you believe it was removed in error or that you have the right to use it, you may send a counter-notice to copyright@desichal.com explaining why. We will review counter-notices and may restore content where appropriate.

7. Repeat Infringers

We will keep a record of valid copyright notices. Where we determine that a user has repeatedly posted infringing content, we will terminate that user's account in accordance with our Terms of Service. We may also restrict or remove content at any time where required by law.

8. False Claims

Making a false or misleading copyright claim may result in the dismissal of your notice and, where appropriate, may have legal consequences. Please make sure your claim is accurate before submitting it.
